Mrs. J. Wright, trainer of Why Not Rowan redeclared a new weight of 30.4kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Why Not Rowan last raced at 32.3kg.
Why Not Rowan went up with the lids at box rise. Don's Bullet and Lektra Basset collided approaching the first turn checking Don's Bullet, which collided with Why Not Rowan and Original Hustler, severely checking all three greyhounds. Slow Cooker checked off Lektra Basset on the first turn. Cosmic Jewels, Typhoon Blake and Selynya Kev collided approaching the home turn checking Typhoon Blake and Selynya Kev. Lektra Basset and Selynya Kev collided on the home turn.
Why Not Rowan was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left monkey muscle and both quadriceps, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.
