A pre race sample was taken from David John.
Evening In Paris, Hastag Danny and Superliner were quick to begin. Grand Slam Diva, Wez Gordy and Uncool Albert collided soon after the start checking Wez Gordy. Evening In Paris, Hastag Danny and Superliner collided on the first turn. Uncool Albert, Miss Trewvain and David John collided on the first turn checking Miss Trewvain and David John. Evening In Paris, Superliner and Hashtag Danny collided entering the home straight checking Hashtag Danny. Superliner eased in the home straight and collided several times with Evening In Paris, resulting in Evening In Paris being severely checked. Miss Trewvain, David John and Uncool Albert collided approaching the winning post.
Evening In Paris was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right monkey muscle and spike wounds to the back left leg, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Superliner was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right wrist and right hip, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr.C.Hudson, the trainer of the greyhound Superliner regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Superliner with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Hudson pleaded guilty to the charge, Superliner was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Warrnambool and Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
