Steward's Report
Media Tycoon, Kaiju, Highfield Zibia and Just A Dot were slow to begin. Media Tycoon and Kaiju collided soon after the start. Opulent Rose and Mi Diablo collided on the first turn checking Mi Diablo. Why Not Liam and Just A Dot collided in the back straight. Opulent Rose eased approaching the second turn and lost considerable ground as a result. Opulent Rose and Mi Diablo collided on the second turn. Why Not Liam and Media Tycoon tired over the concluding stages of the event.
Opulent Rose was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its right thigh. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. R. Brook, the trainer of the greyhound Opulent Rose regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the second turn. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1), stewards charged Opulent Rose with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Brook pleaded guilty to the charge. Opulent Rose was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Why Not Liam was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left thigh. A 14 day stand down period was imposd.
Media Tycoon was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
