Steward's Report
Belair Bee – Late scratching at 2.27pm due to weight variation (GAR 101). Belair Bee is not permitted to compete for 10 days in any other Event. Trainer, Mr T Steel was fined $100.
Aston Keiko – Late scratching at 2.56pm on the advice of the On–Track Veterinarian (GAR 92) due to being in season. A 28 day stand down period was imposed.
Popcorn Ira and Diva Davina were quick to begin.
A post-race urine sample was taken from Diva Davina - the winner of the event.
Bella Supreme, checked and lost ground turn off back straight, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to the left tricep and left sartorius muscles. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards opened an inquiry into the conduct of Mr K Gavin after he engaged in unacceptable conduct. A charge under GAR 165(a) was issued to Mr K Gavin for engaging in conduct that is detrimental and/or prejudicial to the image and/or interest of greyhound racing. Mr K Gavin and was fined $450 - $250 today with the addition of $200 suspended from 25.11.2024. Supplementary Report: Tuesday 21 January 2025 GRV Internal Review panel withdrew the charge and penalty.
Stewards spoke to Mrs C Roberts regarding her inappropriate behaviour. A warning for inappropriate behaviour was issued pursuant to GAR 165(a).
Stewards spoke to Mr G Campbell, the trainer of Aston Keiko, after he left the course today without the permission of Stewards, Mr G Campbell was issued with a warning pursuant to GAR 94(2).
