Steward's Report
An out of competition sample was taken from Zipping Rory, engaged in this event on Thursday 5 February pursuant to GAR 79A.
Zipping Rory was slow to begin. Sisco Wake was very slow to begin (3 lengths). After lost ground in the back straight and tailed off.
Stewards spoke to Mr L Medcraft, the trainer of After. Stewards deemed the performance of After unsatisfactory in this event and acting in accordance with GAR 71, Stewards directed that After must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.
After was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained neck strain and strains to both thighs, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Zipping Rory was vetted. It was reported that no apparent injury was found. Stewards spoke to the handler of Zipping Rory Ms. B. Dapiran regarding the greyhounds performance below market expectation. Ms. Dapiran stated that the greyhound was resuming from a short let up, but had trailled well in preperation for tonight's event. Stewards notes the explanation and directed a sample be taken from the greyhound.
A sample was taken from Sisco Wake - winner of the event.
