Steward's Report
Kiwi Ice Cube was quick to begin. Kamali was slow to begin.
Kamali (turned its head outwards in the front straight before easing and subsequently pulling up on the home turn) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left pencil muscle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to kennel representative Mr. Tony Cortese regarding Kamali’s racing manners in the event. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Kamali was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Cortese pleaded guilty to the charge. Kamali must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
