Steward's Report
Take A Carnation was slow to begin.
Mr. Drifter (turned its head inwards in the home straight) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right back muscle injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to kennel representative Mr. Owen Mcgovern regarding Mr. Drifter's racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Mr. Drifter was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Mcgovern pleaded guilty to the charge. Mr. Drifter must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
