Steward's Report
Bad Move – Late scratching at 4.53pm when Mr Patrick Newell reported the greyhound to have abrasions to both shins (GAR 76). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 19(3)(w) before any future nominations will be accepted.
A pre-race urine sample was taken from Hot Summer Sky.
Hot Summer Sky (severely checked and lost ground turning off the back straight) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left wrist sprain and a left toe spike wound. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Spicy Assassin (racing manners over the concluding stages) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have left toe injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr. David Kerr regarding the racing manners of Spicy Assassin in the home straight. After hearing submissions from Mr. Kerr, viewing the available race footage and having their own observations, a warning was issued.
Due to a technical malfuction there was no head on vision available in the back straight for this event.
