A pre-race urine sample was taken from Cathy's Dream.
Ripped Mikado and Mr. Holiday were slow to begin.
Fireproofed (visibly eased over the concluding stages) underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Mrs Aroha Hemingway regarding the greyhound's racing manners over the concluding stages of the event. Acting under the provisions of GAR 124, Fireproofed was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Ms Hemingway pleaded guilty to the charge. Fireproofed was found guilty and suspended for 28 days (2nd offence) at all tracks and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
