Stewards spoke to Mr Colin Baker in relation to the bona fides of the withdrawal of Urana Rapid from this race. Mr Baker advised that the greyhound was found to have an injury upon examined yesterday and was unfit to take place in today's event. The comments were noted. 

Whisky Mach began awkwardly and was very slow to begin.

A urine sample was taken from Miss Crippa upon arrival at the course. 

October Rain was a late scratching at 10.21am by Order of Stewards after it was established that the incorrect greyhound had been presented. At a subsequent inquiry, Stewards issued a charge under GAR 86 to Mr Simon Mallia for failing to present the correct greyhound to the Stewards for this event. Mr Mallia pleaded guilty to the charge and was fined $250. 

Lucky Indeed was quick to begin.

Bull Indeed (severely checked and subsequently fell approaching the 200m mark) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left quadriceps injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

A pre-race urine sample was taken from Disco Gizmo. 

Major Basil was quick to begin.

Grand Bazaar was slow to begin.

Go Juan underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported.

Mick's Delight – Late scratching at 4:58am when Ms. Aroha Hemingway reported the greyhound to have Diarrhoea (GAR 76). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 19(3)(w) before any future nominations will be accepted.

Western Feel was quick to begin. Major Franky and Hillbilly Lexi were slow to begin.

Black Prestige – Late scratching at 10.22am due to weight variation (GAR 101). Black Prestigue is not permitted to compete for 10 days in any other Event. Trainer, Christian Wilk was fined $100.

A pre-race urine sample was taken from Highway.

Snow Royale was quick to begin.

Agent Jessie was slow to begin.

A urine sample was taken from Get A Grip upon arrival at the course. 

Carly Bale – New declared weight of 29.9kg, last raced at 28.1kg.

Yellow Monaro – New declared weight of 29.8kg, last raced at 28.7kg.

A pre-race urine sample was taken from Cathy's Dream.

Ripped Mikado and Mr. Holiday were slow to begin.

Fireproofed (visibly eased over the concluding stages) underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Mrs Aroha Hemingway regarding the greyhound's racing manners over the concluding stages of the event. Acting under the provisions of GAR 124, Fireproofed was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Ms Hemingway pleaded guilty to the charge. Fireproofed was found guilty and suspended for 28 days (2nd offence) at all tracks and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Uno Peanut was slow to begin. 

Letter To You underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Mr Jason Stemmer regarding the greyhound's racing manners. After hearing submissions from Mr Stemmer, viewing the available race footage and having their own observations, a warning was issued. Mr Stemmer advised that the greyhound will likely be retired following today's run.

What A Spirit - muzzle became dislodged during the running of the event.

Neverland King – Fail To Pursue – Field of 4, Distance: 300m, Weight: 31.9kg, Box 1, Placed 3rd, Time Run 17.362 – Comment: Cleared Straight track racing only. Proved difficult to box and will be boxed first in future events in accordance with GAR 106.
