Mepunga Ollie, If He Could and Burn Along were quick to begin. Aussie Supreme and Acid were slow to begin. If He Could raced wide in the home straight.
Acid Test, checked and lost ground first turn, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right tricep muscle injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
