Steward's Report
Thunder Bay was quick to begin. Vanessa Bale, Tiles And Wine and Toxic Slime were slow to begin.
There was no head-on vision available for this event.
Vanessa Bale underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right gracilis muscle injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Kennel Representative Ms. Emma Palma regarding the racing manners of Vanessa Bale in the home straight. After hearing submissions from Ms. Palma, viewing the available race footage, and having their own observations, Stewards took no further action. In arriving at this decision, Stewards took into consideration that, whilst Vanessa Bale shifted outwards and collided with Albus Dumbledore multiple times in the home straight, Stewards, without the assistance of head-on vision, could not be comfortably satisfied that Vanessa Bale's racing manners constituted a breach of the rules.
Blue Tick Tyrone lost ground approaching the turn off the back straight before shifting wide and racing on the home turn. Stewards spoke to Trainer Mrs. Julie Chilcott regarding the racing manners of Blue Tick Tyrone. After hearing submissions from Ms. Chilcott, viewing the available race footage, and having their own observations, Stewards took no further action. In arriving at this decision, Stewards took into consideration that, without the assistance of head-on vision, Stewards could not be comfortably satisfied as to the cause of Blue Tick Tyrone ceding ground prior to shifting wide.
