Steward's Report
A pre–race urine sample was unable to be obtained from Johnnie Blue, a post–race blood sample was subsequently taken.
Squiggle and Sassy Rico were quick to begin. Rolling Coal and She's Wired were slow to begin.
Winter Bale, Greysynd Fever and Sassy Rico raced wide turning into the home straight.
Rolling Coal (lost ground in the home straight) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right gracilis muscle injury and suspected tonsillitis. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Squiggle (marred Johnnie Blue in the home straight) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left calf muscle injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Ms. Kathleen Boyle regarding Squiggle’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 123, Squiggle was charged with marring. Ms. Boyle pleaded guilty to the charge. Squiggle is suspended for three months (3rd offence) at all tracks and must perform two Satisfactory Trials in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
