A pre–race urine sample was taken from Shaggy Bear.
Spoken was quick to begin. Shaggy Bear and Catch A Cod were slow to begin.
Rhyme Dust underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr. Josh Duncan regarding Rhyme Dust’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 123, Rhyme Dust was charged with marring. Mr. Duncan pleaded guilty to the charge. Rhyme Dust was suspended for 28 days (1st offence) at Shepparton and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
