Steward's Report

Lektra Kirky and Nook And Cranny were slow to begin. Lektra Kirky, Classic Caper, Uno Frankie, See Him Next and Tear Away Guy collided approaching the first turn checking Classic Caper, Tear Away Guy, See Him Next and Uno Frankie. Lady Abby checked off Anika Bale on the first turn severely checking Nook And Cranny. Lady Abby and Tear Away Guy collided approaching the home turn. Uno Frankie and Lady Abby collided entering the home straight checking both greyhounds. Anika Bale eased approaching the winning post. 

Lady Abby was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Nook And Cranny was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right monkey muscle and right pencil muscle, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. Mark Delbridge, the trainer of the greyhound Anika Bale regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post.  Anika Bale was vetted following the event and re-vetted following event twelve.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right pencil muscle, a 10 stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Anika Bale with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr. Delbridge pleaded guilty to the charge, Anika Bale was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
