Dust Maker and Saint Jane were quick to begin. Maximum Melva, Blue Cumani and Ice Buster collided soon after the start checking Blue Cumani. Ivy Bale and Mazzetti collided approaching the first turn. Blue Cumani checked off Maximum Melva on the first turn. Dust Maker, Ice Buster, Ivy Bale and Mazzetti collided on the first turn checking Ice Buster, Ivy Bale and Kimmy Bale and severely checking Mazzetti, Kimmy Bale stumbled as a result. Maximum Melva and Kimmy Bale collided approaching the home turn checking Kimmy Bale. Mazzetti raced wide on the home turn.
Mazzetti was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left monkey muscle, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.
