Steward's Report
Brandy's Puzzle, Need's Luck and Ravenwood were slow to begin. Scanez Twelve checked off Valencia Miss soon after the start. Fear Me Roar and Stadium Dancer collided soon after the start checking both greyhounds. Fear Me Roar, Stadium Dancer and Need's Luck collided on the first turn checking Need's Luck. Valencia Miss eased on first turn and raced wide; Stadium Dancer was checked as a result. Linda Bella faltered approaching the home turn and tailed off as a result. Fear Me Roar and Need's Luck collided on the home turn. Valencia Miss, Fear Me Roar and Stadium Dancer collided entering the home straight checking Valencia Miss and Stadium Dancer.
Stewards spoke to Mr. L. Fulford, the trainer of the greyhound Valencia Miss regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the first turn. Valencia Miss was vetted following the event and it was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left hip. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Valencia Miss with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Fulford pleaded guilty to the charge. Valencia Miss was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Linda Bella was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its right hamstring and a tarsal fracture. A 28 day stand down period was imposed.
