Amaroo Chaos and One Mid were quick to begin.  Still Bluffing went up with the lids at box rise and was slow to begin.  Begin Again and Sideways Glance were slow to begin.  Barada checked off Sideways Glance on the first turn.  Amaroo Chaos and Barada collided on the first turn checking Amaroo Chaos and severely checking Barada.  Still Bluffing galloped on the heels of Barada approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds.  Amaroo Chaos and Memphis Pirates collided approaching the home turn and again on the home turn checking both greyhounds.  Still Bluffing and Barada collided approaching the home turn and again on the home turn checking both greyhounds.  Zap And Yap cramped in the home straight and lost considerable ground as a result.

Zap And Yap was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained muscle cramp.  A 14 day stand down period was imposesd.

Stewards spoke to Mrs. L. Russell, the trainer of the greyhound Zap And Yap.  Acting in accordance with GAR 71 (Cramp) stewards directed that the greyhound must perform a Satisfactory Trial before any future nomination will be accepted.

Black Alabar and Blonde Lilly were slow to begin.  Boris Flames and Lord George collided soon after the start checking Lord George.  Boris Flames, Lord George and Blonde Lilly collided on the first turn checking Lord George.  Reality Boy and Ginlee's Prince collided on the first turn checking Ginlee's Prince. Feeling Lucky and Ginlee's Prince collided approaching the home turn checking Feeling Lucky.  Black Alabar raced wide in the home straight.

Following the event, Reality Boy was pronounced deceased by the Club's Veterinary Surgeon after the greyhound sustained a fatal injury in the catching pen. 

Results of Autopsy

Following the meeting held on 1st January 2015, Stewards ordered an autopsy be conducted on the greyhound Reality Boy which was pronounced deceased by the Club's Veterinary Surgeon following its collapse in the catching pen at the conclusion of this Event.  The likely cause of death was cardiac failure.

Brandy's Puzzle, Need's Luck and Ravenwood were slow to begin.  Scanez Twelve checked off Valencia Miss soon after the start.  Fear Me Roar and Stadium Dancer collided soon after the start checking both greyhounds.  Fear Me Roar, Stadium Dancer and Need's Luck collided on the first turn checking Need's Luck.  Valencia Miss eased on first turn and raced wide; Stadium Dancer was checked as a result.  Linda Bella faltered approaching the home turn and tailed off as a result.  Fear Me Roar and Need's Luck collided on the home turn.  Valencia Miss, Fear Me Roar and Stadium Dancer collided entering the home straight checking Valencia Miss and Stadium Dancer.

Stewards spoke to Mr. L. Fulford, the trainer of the greyhound Valencia Miss regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the first turn.  Valencia Miss was vetted following the event and it was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left hip.  A 5 day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Valencia Miss with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr. Fulford pleaded guilty to the charge.  Valencia Miss was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Linda Bella was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its right hamstring and a tarsal fracture.  A 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Mercury Benz was quick to begin.  Coop's Surprize and Uvalde collided soon after the start checking Coop's Surprize.  Little Sienna and Snowy Benz collided soon after the start checking Snowy Benz.  Dee Sticky and Plaza Boy collided approaching the first turn checking Dee Sticky.  Added Bonus raced wide on the home turn.

Foxy Gems was quick to begin.  Bernmar Pauline was slow to begin.  Taquitos and Heavenly Star collided approaching the first turn checking Taquitos, Heavenly Star and Run Sophie Run.  Taquitos and Heavenly Star collided on the first turn checking Taquitos.

Macalister Mary was quick to begin.  Super Mif and Lefty Burner were slow to begin.  Angel's Chief was very slow to begin (3 lengths).  Angel's Chief and Super Mif collided on the first turn checking Super Mif and severely checking Angel's Chief.  Hymie and Wicked Wendy collided on the first turn.  Dagwood and Wicked Wendy collided approaching the home turn.

Mr. G. Johnson, trainer of Release The Heat redeclared a new weight of 35.2kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Release The Heat last raced at 33.9kgs.

Why Not Donna was quick to begin.  Release The Heat was slow to begin.  Golden Meleni and Stylish Ruler collided approaching the first turn.  Daintree Warrior, Skeet With Grace and Why Not Donna collided on the first turn checking Skeet With Grace which stumbled and checked Stylish Ruler as a result. Ledaro Dash raced wide on the home turn.

Stylish Ruler was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained soreness to its right foreleg.  A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Sisco Flyer was quick to begin.  Survivor Sal, Charlotte Belle and Flirtatious collided soon after the start checking Charlotte Belle.  Survivor Sal, Charlotte Belle and Magic Flyer collided approaching the first turn checking Charlotte Belle and Magic Flyer.  Flirtatious checked off Sammy The Foss on the first turn. Flirtatious stumbled approaching the home turn and fell, severely checking Charlotte Belle and Magic Flyer and causing Survivor Sal to fall.

Survivor Sal was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Flirtatious was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a fractured left foreleg.  The greyhound was humanely euthanised.

A pre-race sample was taken from Red Trump.

Rusty Mia, Doomsday Clock and Run Dora Run were quick to begin.  Red Trump was slow to begin.  Brandeen Ed, Tycoon Diamond and Akando collided soon after the start checking Brandeen Ed and Tycoon Diamond.  Brandeen Ed and Tycoon Diamond collided approaching the first turn checking Brandeen Ed.  Doomsday Clock and Akando collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds and causing Run Dora Run and Red Trump to race wide.  Brandeen Ed and Miss Silay collided on the home turn checking Miss Silay.  Red Trump raced wide on the home turn.  Rusty Mia and Akando collided approaching the winning post.

Miss Silay was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained soreness to its neck.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Braquo, Pully George and Brooklyn's Ace were slow to begin.  Polar Bee and Jarry Reg collided soon after the start checking Polar Bee.  Brooklyn's Ace checked off Braquo approaching the first turn.  Teecee Raider checked off Senor Vee Bee on the first turn.  Jarry Reg galloped on the heels of Teecee Raider on the first turn checking Teecee Raider, Jarry Reg, Polar Bee and Pully George.  Braquo galloped on the heels of Pully George approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds.  Teecee Raider raced wide on the home turn.  Brooklyn's Ace tailed off in the home straight.

Brooklyn's Ace was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to its left and right hips.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

A pre-race sample was unable to be obtained from On Flyer.  A post race sample was subsequently taken.

Rulla Ronaldo was slow to begin.  Daggy's Gift and Betsy Ann collided soon after the start.  Elswyk Miss and Le Doyen collided on the first turn checking Elswyk Miss and Daggy's Gift.  Southwood Flame and Rulla Ronaldo collided on the first turn checking Southwood Flame.  Betsy Ann and Elswyk Miss collided on the first turn checking Elswyk Miss.  Rulla Ronaldo checked off Le Doyen approaching the home turn.  Daggy's Gift and Elswyk Miss collided on the home turn checking Elswyk Miss.

Mrs. P. Burns, trainer of Purple Flynn redeclared a new weight of 31.4kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Purple Flynn last raced at 30.1kgs.

A pre-race sample was taken from Foxy Bling.

Wolfbane McCabe and Purple Flynn were slow to begin.  Bubba's Boy, Soul Man and Squirrel Benz collided approaching the first turn checking Bubba's Boy.  Wolfbane McCabe checked off Kallara Gem on the first turn.  Purple Flynn and Usain's Hand collided on the home turn checking both greyhounds. Soul Man and Squirrel Benz collided entering the home straight. 

Soul Man, which tired over the concluding stages of the event, was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Satisfactory Trials

Heston Lodge trialled over the 460 metre distance from box 5, weight 35.0kgs.  The greyhound was place 2nd in field of 4.  The time of the trial was 26.33. The greyhound was beaten by a margin of 2.5 lengths.  Heston Lodge was cleared.
