Cosmic Royale was slow to begin.
Mahogany Diamond crossed to the rail soon after the start checking Bibby's Bella, Water Bag, What Now and Quick Hitch causing Quick Hitch to stumble. Cosmic Waters checked off Quick Hitch approaching the first turn. Cosmic Waters, What Now and Mahogany Diamond collided on the first turn checking What Now and severely checking Mahogany Diamond. Vapour Jay and Water Bag collided approaching the home turn. Vapour Jay, Water Bag and Bibby's Bella collided entering the home straight. Cosmic Royale raced wide entering the home straight. What Now crossed to the outside in the home straight. Cosmic Waters and Quick Hitch collided approaching the winning post checking Quick Hitch.
Mahogany Diamond was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to both triceps and the left thigh and a spike wound to the left hind foot. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
