Steward's Report
A pre–race urine sample was taken from Hotspot Hero.
Coffee Buddies raced wide throughout. Flying Bessie and Hotspot Hero raced wide on the home turn and in the home straight.
Sandy's Lunar visibly eased and turned its head outwards in the home straight, subsequently tailing off. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a right pectineus muscle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr. Robert Weightman regarding Sandy Lunar's racing manners. Acting under the provisions of GAR 124, was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Weightman pleaded guilty to the charge. Sandy's Lunar is suspended for 28 days (1st offence) at Ballarat only and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
