Mr. Barry Toner requested an early race endorsement for Luxford. Stewards approved the request after an extensive examination prior to racing by the On–Track Veterinarian. Luxford will compete in early races until further notice.
Internal Affairs and Paw Samuel were slow to begin.
Paw Samuel was checked on the first turn and lost ground, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a laceration on the left hind foot. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
