Steward's Report
Demonic Spirit – Late scratching at 8:08am due to non–arrival (GAR 86 and LR 39). A 28 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards advised Mr. Jimmy Holt that evidence of the matter which caused the non-arrival will need to be submitted to Stewards. The matter will be re–evaluated upon receipt of this evidence. The 28 day stand down was lifted in accordance with GAR 86 after the Stewards were provided with satisfactory evidence as to the circumstances of the withdrawal.
Larry Intention was slow to begin.
Iowa Lass (lost ground from the 200m mark) underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hamstring injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Pursuant to GAR 122, the Stewards requested Mrs. Darlene McIntyre to report as soon as practicable anything that may have affected the running of Iowa Lass in the event, which was not noted by Stewards during or immediately after the event.
A post-race urine sample was taken from Disco Gizmo - the winner of the event.
