Pursuant to GAR 75(6), starter Ms Donna Robertson did not act in any official capacity that may have in any way affected the outcome of this event.
Paw Nitro was quick to begin. Solar Spectrum was slow to begin.
Solar Spectrum (raced wide turning into the home straight) underwent a post–race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Mr. Mark Delbridge regarding the racing manners of Solar Spectrum on the turn into the home straight. After hearing submissions from Mr. Delbridge, viewing the available race footage of this race and previous races, Stewards took no further action.
Paw Queeny (turned its head outwards and marred Solar Spectrum in the home straight), Trainer Mr. Mark Delbridge declined to have the greyhound vetted. Stewards spoke to Mr. Mark Delbridge regarding Paw Queeny's racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 123, Paw Queeny was charged with marring. Mr. Delbridge pleaded guilty to the charge. Paw Queeny will be suspended for 28 days (1st offence) at Ballarat and must perform a satisfactory trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
