Velox Bale – Late scratching at 8.09am when Tammy Kennedy-Harris reported the greyhound to have a paw pad injury (GAR 76). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 19(3)(w) before any future nominations will be accepted.

Droopy's Brew (turn off the back straight), underwent a post-race veterinary examination.  It was reported that the greyhound was found to be injured in the left hind sartorius muscle.  A 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Trainer - Mr. Joe Uglietta regarding the racing manners of Hot Cross in the home straight. After hearing submissions from Mr. Uglietta, viewing the available race footage and having their own observations, the Stewards issued a warning to connections.

Mr. Joe Uglietta was reminded of his responsibilities for failing to follow the Starter's orders when boxing Hot Cross, pursuant to GAR 105.

Property Mogul was quick to begin.  Archie McIvor and Slingshop Snoop were slow to begin.

Stewards noted the amber light was not activated for this event.  Stewards referred the matter to Club Manager - Ms. J Faralla for consideration and remediation.

Reiko Dusty underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported.  Stewards spoke to Trainer - Mr. C. Brennan, regarding the racing manners of Reiko Dusty in the home straight.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 124, Reiko Dusty was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Brennan pleaded not guilty to the charge. Reiko Dusty was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Stewards noted the field arrived at the boxes 3 minutes prior to the start of this event.  Stewards referred the matter to Club Manager - Ms. J Faralla for consideration and remediation.
