Stewards noted that I'm Cheeky and Reiko Venus collided multiple times in the home straight. After viewing the available race footage, Stewards formed the view that these collisions were caused by I'm Cheeky shifting out. Stewards took no further action.

Sandy's Rebel raced wide on the home turn and in the home straight.

Following the running of the event, due to persistent rainfall in the area, Stewards inspected the track and were saftisfied it was suitable for racing.

Fireproofed (visibly eased turning off the back straight and subsequently tailed off) underwent a post–race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Trainer Mr. Keith Lancaster declined the opportunity to have the greyhound re-examined. Stewards spoke to Mr. Keith Lancaster regarding Fireproofed's racing manners. Acting under the provisions of GAR 124, Fireproofed was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Lancaster pleaded guilty to the charge. Fireproofed is suspended for 28 days at Ballarat must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 124, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.

In accordance with LR 40.2, Mr T. Boehmke was reminded of his responsibilities regarding non–compliance with the GRV Dress Standards.

McIvor Alfy was slow to begin.
