A sample was taken from Luna Pack upon arrival at the course.

Lightning Legs – New declared weight of 36.0kg, last raced at 34.4kg.

Bonnieville Icon, Lightning Legs, Moraine Sally and Komatsu Icon were slow to begin.

Pirate's Brew (turned it's head inwards approaching the winning post and marred Bone Shaker) underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Mr. R. Marriner regarding Pirate's Blue’s racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 123, Pirate's Blue was charged with marring. Mr. Marriner pleaded guilty to the charge. Pirate's Blue is suspended for 28 days at all tracks and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Luna Pack (turned it's head inwards soon after the start), underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported. Trainer, Mr. Daniel Hoch declined to have the greyhound revetted. Stewards spoke to Mr. Hoch regarding Luna Pack's racing manners soon after the start. Acting under the provisions of GAR 124, Luna Pack was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Hoch pleaded guilty to the charge. Luna Pack is suspended for 28 days at Shepparton and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
