Steel Plate and Excitable collided approaching the second turn. Samples were taken from Whisper My Name, the winner of the event.
tThe boxes failed to open at the first attempt and it became apparent to the starter, Mr. Joe Karamatic, that the safety catches of these boxes had not been released, causing the incident. All greyhounds were re-vetted and passed fit to run. The muzzle was also replaced on Chrome Shadow (7). Stewards spoke to both track attendent, Mr. Ray Bartolo, and starter, Mr. Karamatic regarding the incident.
