Pre-race sample was taken from Track Special.
Golden Cane was slow to begin. Tomali Tiger checked off the heels of Clutha Bale soon after the start. Golden Cane checked off the heels of Clutha Bale on the first turn, checking Tomali Tiger. Track Special faltered on the first turn and subsequently tailed off. Natural Rose and Clutha Bale collided on the home turn. Natural Rose checked off the heels of Clutha Bale on the home turn. Loopy Tiger raced wide on the home turn. Natural Rose galloped on the heels of Curried Salmon in the home straight, severely checking both greyhounds.
Track Special was vetted following the running of the event, found to be injured (torn back muscle), and was stood down for 30 days.
