Steward's Report
Groober, Apache Pass and Mavis Winifred were slow out. Paris Montana and Surfin' Oscar collided approaching the first turn. Apache Pass raced wide on the first turn. Groober and Paris Montana collided approaching the second turn checking both greyhounds. Surfin' Oscar and Boo Weekley collided approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds. Surfin' Oscar veered in and marred the running of Select Goddess approaching the winning post.
Surfin' Oscar was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left hind leg, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Acting under GAR 69(1)(a) stewards charged Surfin' Oscar with marring and suspended the greyhound for 28 days at Sale and directed that the greyhound perform a STAT, pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Groober was vetted and after being revetted following event 10, it was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Mr. C. Johannsen, the trainer of Groober regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the first turn.
