Arnie's Star and Matador Lad were slow out. Da Stig, Fitzy and Dr. Iona collided soon after the start. Fitzy and Dr. Iona collided approaching the first turn, checking Dr. Iona. Arnie's Star, Da Stig and Dr. Iona collided on the first turn, checking Da Stig and Dr. Iona and severely checking Arnie's Star. Dr. Iona checked off Da Stig on the home turn. Fitzy checked off Northern Gunna entering the home straight.
Arnie's Star was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right shoulder muscle. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
