Steward's Report

Newsmaker and Coeur Delion were slow out. Newsmaker and Zarbo collided on the second turn. Russian Rebel and Poetic Token collided on the fifth turn. Midnight Peak and Russian Rebel collided on the home turn. Zarbo veered out and marred the running of Coeur Delion in the home straight. Zarbo was vetted following the Event and Dr. Narelle Cribb, the Club's Veterinary Surgeon, reported that the greyhound sustained soreness to the right triangle, right back muscle and left monkey muscle and recommended that the greyhound be stood down from competing for 21 days. Stewards charged Zarbo in contravention of GAR96(1) for marring in the home straight. After taking evidence from Trainer, Darren McDonald, acting on their own observations and viewing both the patrol and head-on video films, the Stewards found Zarbo guilty as charged. Acting in accordance with GAR97(2), the Stewards will stand Zarbo down from competing for 3 months (all tracks) and will require the greyhound to perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will again be accepted.
