Wisdom Cove eased and raced wide on the first turn. Porcelain Doll and Can Tango collided on the first turn. Porcelain Doll and Glenavon Rhythm collided on the second turn. Can Tango checked off the heels of Weak Spring entering the back straight. Wongawillicath checked off the heels of Dr. Flavia in the back straight. Vivacious Vixen and Can Tango collided entering the home straight. Wisdom Cove was vetted following the Event and after being revetted, Dr. Narelle Cribb, the Club's Veterinary Surgeon, reported that the greyhound sustained soreness to the right monkey muscle and right groin and recommended the greyhound be stood down from competing for 10 days. Stewards charged Wisdom Cove with contravention of GAR96(2) for failing to pursue the lure with due commitment on the first turn. After taking evidence from Trainer, Clifford Smith, and taking into account the injuries sustained to the greyhound, the Stewards invoked GAR98(1)(d) in lieu of GAR96(2) and have directed that the greyhound must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will again be accepted.
