Steward's Report

Longley and Torresella were slow out. Junior Shiraz checked off the heels of Pepe's Colour on the first turn. Paris Montana and Welcome Lass collided on the first turn. Longley clipped the heels of Nero's Hero apporaching the second turn and contacted the running rail as a result. Paris Montana and Welcome Lass collided on the second turn. Torresella checked off the heels of Welcome Lass on the third turn. Longley eased on the fourth turn checking Nero's Hero and Just Mishie. Nero's Hero eased on the home turn. Nero's Hero was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left calf injury, a 5 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(1)(b) stewards charged Nero's Hero with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment and suspended the greyhound for 3 months (all tracks) and directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory trial(all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(b) before any future nomination will be accepted. Longley was vetted and revetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury. Acting under GAR 69(1)(b) stewards charged Longley with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment and suspended the greyhound for 28 days at Cranbourne and directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory trial(all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted. Samples were taken from Pepe's Colour winner of the event.
