A pre-race sample was taken from Blessed Speed. Hanicka Bale, Blessed Speed and Mepunga Jet were slow out. Hanicka Bale and Blessed Speed collided soon after the start. Sisco Buzz and Mepunga Jet collided soon after the start checking Mepunga Jet. Blessed Speed and Imelda Bale collided on the first turn. Berman Bale and Nosey's Girl collided on the first turn checking Nosey's Girl and Sisco Buzz. Nosey's Girl raced wide as a result. Hanicka Bale, Blessed Speed and Imelda Bale collided on the second turn. Berman Bale and Mepunga Jet collided approaching the home turn. Mepunga Jet eased on the home turn checking Berman Bale. Blessed Speed and Sisco Buzz collided on the home turn. Berman Bale and Mepunga Jet collided entering the home straight. Mepunga Jet was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound suffered spike wounds to the left and right hind and will be stood down from racing for 3 days. Acting under AGRR82.1(d), Stewards directed the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial, all tracks, before any future nomination. A sample was taken from Monty Bale, the winner of the event.
