Steward's Report
Bertundy Wright, Zac Callum, Bishop's Fool, Smooth Sonnet and Wild Bear were slow out. Bishop's Fool and Smooth Sonnet collided soon after the start. Bertundy Wright galloped on the heels of Paxton on the first turn checking Paxton, severely checking Bertundy Wright, Bishop's Fool and Smooth Sonnet. Paxton and Ivana collided entering the back straight checking Paxton and Wild Bear. Paxton lost ground as a result. Bertundy Wright galloped on the heels of Wild Bear on the third turn checking both greyhounds. Smooth Sonnet checked off the heels of Bishop's Fool in the home straight.
Paxton was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound suffered spike wounds to the left hind toe and will not be stood down from racing.
Stewards spoke to Mr W. Vassallo, Handler of Smooth Sonnet and reminded him of his responsibility to provide a Catcher in accordance with AGRR46.
