Steward's Report
Aquarius Star, Trew Courage and Connemara Wish were slow out. Aquarius Star and Trew Courage collided soon after the start and again approaching the first turn. Flex Appeal checked off the heels of Pop Galore approaching the first turn. Pop Galore and Doralynn Bale collided on the first turn checking Doralynn Bale. Flex Appeal and Doralynn Bale collided entering the back straight checking Flex Appeal. Trew Courage checked off the heels of Doralynn Bale on the third turn. Pop Galore and Doc Engi collided on the home turn. Pop Galore veered out and fought Doc Engi entering the home straight checking Aquarius Star and Connemara Wish. Pop Galore veered out and fought Doc Engi again in the home straight causing Doc Engi to fall. Flex Appeal and Pop Galore collided approaching the finishing line.
Pop Galore was vetted following the Event and Dr. Gabrielle Carter, the Club's Veterinary Surgeon, reported that she could find no injury apparent with the greyhound. Stewards charged Pop Galore in contravention of AGRR 80.1 for fighting entering the home straight and again in the home straight. After taking evidence from Trainer, S. Liuzzi, acting on their own observations and viewing the official video film, the Stewards found Pop Galore guilty as charged. Acting in accordance with AGRR 81.1, the Stewards will stand Pop Galore down from competing for 28 days at The Meadows only and will require the greyhound to perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will again be accepted.
Doc Engi was vetted following the Event and Dr. Carter reported that she could find no injury apparent with the greyhound.
Doralynn Bale was also vetted following the Event and Dr. Carter reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left hind toe. Acting on a recommendation from Dr. Carter, the Stewards wil stand Doralynn Bale down from competing for 28 days.
