Steward's Report
Smart Aviator crossed to the rail soon after the start severely checking Splendid Return and checking Sky Ray and Qayyim Bale. Sky Ray checked off the heels of Smart Aviator on the first turn checking World Of Storm, Orford, Splendid Return, Sitting Bear and Uno Jacob. Smart Aviator faltered approaching the second turn and lost considerable ground as a result. Uno Jacob raced wide in the home straight.
A sample was taken from Sky Ray the winner of the event.
Smart Aviator was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right hind dropped back muscle, a 21 day stand down period was imposed.
