Sole Intent was slow out. Miss Beilharz and Sunset Moon collided on the first turn. Lazrin checked off the heels of Sunset Moon entering the front straight. Stylish Solrac raced wide in the front straight. Regal Tiger checked off the heels of Random Flyer on the fourth turn. Sunset Moon and Sole Intent collided on the fifth turn checking Miss Sandy Leigh and Sunset Moon. Lazrin veered out and fought Stylish Solrac entering the home straight checking Random Flyer. Lazrin was vetted following the Event and Dr. Michael Bell, the Club's Veterinary Surgeon, reported that the greyhound was found to be injured in the right back muscle. Acting on a recommendation from Dr. Bell, the Stewards will stand Lazrin down from competing for 5 days. Stewards charged Lazrin in contravention of AGRR 80.1 for fighting entering the home straight. After taking evidence from Trainer, Simon Barker, acting on their own observations and viewing the official video film, the Stewards found Lazrin guilty as charged. Acting in accordance with AGRR 81.1, the Stewards will stand Lazrin down from competing for 28 days at The Meadows only and will require the greyhound to perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will again be accepted. Stewards also directed that a swab sample be taken from Lazrin, the winner of the Event. Following the running of this Event, the Judge inadvertently semaphored the placings as 8-3-5. After consulting the photofinish print, the placings were amended to read 8-3-2. Stewards subsequently declared all clear on the placings.
