Riley Jones, Kilmany Dancer, Miami Molly and Go The Tonk were slow out. Riley Jones was checked off the heels of Kilmany Dancer approaching the first turn checking Miami Molly. Riley Jones, Miami Molly and Go The Tonk collided on the first turn. TJ's Desire galloped on the heels of Mad Polly approaching the first turn. Go The Tonk raced wide on the home turn.
Steward's spoke to Ms. C. Barnard, handler of TJ's Desire regarding the difficulty in boxing the greyhound and directed that TJ's Desire be boxed first in future events.
