ASSISTED REHOMING PROGRAM
05/02/2025GAP is seeking greyhounds to take part in the Assisted Rehoming Program (ARP).
The Assisted Rehoming Program allows GAP to advertise and match a greyhound whilst in the participants care.

GEELONG CLOSURE - 17TH FEB TO 1ST MARCH
05/02/2025Please be advised that the Geelong Greyhound Racing Club will be closed due to a new track lighting installation from 17th February until the 1st of March.
The club will not be conducting any trials or racing during this period.

AUSTRALIAN CUP HEATS, TEMLEE AND ZOOM TOP NOMINATIONS
04/02/2025A total of 109 nominations have been received for the Sportsbet Australian Cup Series with a further 13 nominations received for the Sportsbet Zoom Top.
The following greyhounds in Special Event Ranking Order have been nominated for the Sportsbet Australian Cup Series.
Eight of these greyhounds will be selected to compete in the Group 1 Sportsbet Temlee, with the field to be announced on Sunday 2nd February. The next 64 greyhounds will then be drawn into 8 heats of the Australian Cup to be held at The Meadows on Saturday 8th February. Greyhounds ordered 73 through to 88 will be selected as reserves.

Key Timelines:
- The eight (8) runners plus two (2) reserves for The Temlee and Zoom Top will be announced by the MGRA on Sunday 2nd February.
- Manual box draws for The Temlee and Zoom Top will take place with representatives of GRV and MGRA on Monday 3rd February.
- The Australian Cup heats and box draws will take place on Wednesday 5th February following nominations closing for two standard Events at 2pm on this date.
- Greyhounds withdrawn from the Australian Cup & Zoom Top will incur the normal stand down period if scratched after the close of nominations on Friday 31st January at 10am.
HORSHAM TRIALS
04/02/2025Participants please note that Horsham will be conducting an additional arm trial session on Thursday 6th February. The trial sessions will be from 8am to 11am with bookings via the Club on 5382 4329.
Pen Trials will only be conducted after the race meeting on Friday 7th February (Day Meeting) if the race meeting is not marked Hot Weather Affected.

The safety and welfare of greyhounds and participants is of paramount concern for Greyhound Racing Victoria (GRV) in assessing whether a race meeting or individual races on a program should proceed, be delayed or abandoned in hot weather conditions.
HOT WEATHER AFFECTED MEETINGS: TUESDAY 4 FEBRUARY 2025
03/02/2025In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, the GEELONG & WARRAGUL meetings for TUESDAY 04 FEBRUARY 2025 have been marked as ‘Hot Weather Affected’.
As a consequence:
1. Trainers may withdraw any of their greyhounds without penalty, prior to the appointed scratching time
2. Kennel temperatures will be monitored and recorded
3. Cooling Vests will be available at the catching pen.

THE MEADOWS - MONDAY TRIAL SESSION
31/01/2025Due to the expected hot weather forecast for this coming Monday 3rd Feb.
The clubs regular arm/pen trial session will begin at 8am and be capped to 80 trials (11:30am)
The sessions bookings will open at the normal time of Midday Sunday but close at 6pm Sunday.
SANDOWN GRV CANCELLATION OF TRIAL SESSION 7/2/25
31/01/2025Weather permitting Sandown GRV will be conducting a deep harrow on Friday 7 February 2025.
As a result, there will be no trial session conducted that day.
To help compensate for the loss of this trial session the club will extend Wednesday’s trial session on 5 February to 3.00 pm to accommodate all trainers who wish to trial.
