Steward's Report
Smiling Sapphire – Late scratching at 2.58pm when Trainer Ms. D. Knight reported the greyhound to have a wrist injury (GAR 76). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 19(3)(w) before any future nominations will be accepted.
Zippy Wiesman and Khan Craig were quick to begin. Rogan Bale was slow to begin.
Are You Nervous (failed to pursue approaching the winning post) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left hock sprain. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr George Kantzidis regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Are You Nervous was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Kantzidis pleaded guilty to the charge. Are You Nervous must perform a satisfactory trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
