Steward's Report
Mr. John Delaroche failed to kennel It's A Runaway by the appointed kennelling time. A warning was issued pursuant to LR 39.1.
A pre-race sample was taken from Nikita Bale.
Dunach Fireball was quick to begin. Art The Clown and Quick Biscuit were slow to begin.
Dunach Fireball was checked on the first turn and subsequently lost ground. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have left hind nail injury. No stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr. Ian Robinson regarding Dunach Fireball's overall performance in the event. In accordance with GAR 122, the Stewards requested Mr. Robinson to report as soon as practicable anything that may have affected the running of Dunach Fireball in the event, which was not noted by Stewards during or immediately after the event.
Nikita Bale turned its head inwards approaching the winning post. Underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was re–examined following race 8, no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to representative Mr. Ronald Rudd regarding Nikita Bale's racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 124, Nikita Bale was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Rudd pleaded not guilty to the charge. Nikita Bale was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at The Meadows and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
