Steward's Report
Ms. Ashlee Terry was fined $50 for failing to ensure the registration card was produced for Ninetymile Venom, pursuant to GAR 88.
A pre-race sample was taken from Make No Promise.
Dewana Payout was slow to begin.
Dewana Payout (visibly eased approaching the turn out of the front straight and subsequently contacted the running rail) underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right triangle muscle injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr. Brendan Dewan regarding Dewana Payout's racing manners. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Dewana Payout was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Dewan pleaded guilty to the charge. Dewana Payout must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Stewards also spoke to Mr. Dewan regarding the difficulty in boxing Dewana Payout in this event. A warning was issued pursuant to GAR 106(2) and Stewards will continue to monitor the box manners of Dewana Payout at future starts.
