Pursuant to GAR 139, Out Of Competition samples were taken from:
- Sunnyside Jo on 20/05/2024.
- Canya Amy, Valpolicella, Drill Sergeant, Irish Millie, Osanna Bale, Ritza Piper, Osprey Athena and Unreal Speed on 21/05/2024.
- Fast Minardi on 22/05/2024
Drill Sergeant, Irish Millie and Sunnyside Jo were quick to begin. Fast Minardi was slow to begin.
Drill Sergeant was galloped on by Fast Minardi in the home straight causing Fast Minardi, Drill Sergeant and Ritza Piper to fall and severely checking Osanna Bale who subsequently tailed off. All four greyhounds underwent post-race veterinary examinations:
- Fast Minardi was found to have a right radius ulna fracture. A 90 day stand down period was imposed.
- Ritza Piper was found to have a left gracilis injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
- Drill Sergeant was found to have a left gracilis injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
- Osanna Bale was found to have a left gracilis injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Post-race blood and urine samples were taken from Irish Millie - winner of the event.
Post-race urine samples were taken from Canya Amy (2nd) and Valpolicella (3rd).
