Inter Terra and Balkan Warrior were quick to begin. May Emma Shine and Ohana Love were slow to begin.
Vonnie Lee checked off Inter Terra on the first turn and subsequently fell, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left triangle injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Inter Terra galloped on Neverland King on the first turn and was severely checked, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left hind abrasion. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Neverland King turned its head inwards and visibly eased on the first turn, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hind spike wound. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mrs Melanie Lithgow regarding Neverland King’s racing manners on the first turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 124 Neverland King was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mrs Lithgow pled guilty to the charge, Neverland King was found guilty and suspended for 28 days all tracks and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
May Emma Shine was severely checked on the first turn, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right triangle injury. A 21 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr Matthew Clark regarding the racing manners of May Emma Shine in the home straight. After hearing submissions from Mr Clark, viewing the available race footage and having their own observations, the Stewards issued a warning to connections regarding the greyhound’s racing manners.
