A post-race sample was taken from Tea Yemen the winner of the event.

Weblec Aviator turned it's head inward during the home straight, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right long head tricep and left shoulder injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Ms. Angela Langton regarding Welec Aviator’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 124, Weblec Aviator was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Ms. Langton pleaded guilty to the charge. Weblec Aviator was suspended for 28 days at Geelong track only and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
