Steward's Report
Pursuant to GAR 75(6), Kennel attendants Mr J.Holt and Mrs J.Hooke did not act in any official capacity that may have in any way affected the outcome of this event.
A pre–race sample was taken from Project Mayhem.
Hammer To Fall (severely checked on the home turn) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right triceps injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Project Mayhem (eased and turned its head outwards soon after the start, approaching the home turn and approaching the winning post) underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported.
Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr J.Clarke regarding Project Mayhem’s racing manners throughout the event. Acting under the provisions of GAR 124, Project Mayhem was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Clarke pleaded guilty to the charge. Project Mayhem was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at All tracks and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Following the running of this event, Stewards were made aware of an incident in the kennel area involving registered participants Mr Cameron Hudson and Mr Jack Clarke. After hearing submissions from Mr Hudson, Mr Clarke, and several other witnesses to the incident, Stewards imposed the following penalty after considering all the available evidence:
Mr. Cameron Hudson - Pleaded guilty to a charge of GAR 165(a) in that he engaged in conduct that was detrimental to the interest and image of greyhound racing. Stewards found Mr Hudson guilty as charged and imposed a penalty of $500 wholly suspended for 24 months, pending no further conduct-related issues in this time.
