Steward's Report
Ritza Dale was quick to begin. Tornado Jack and Alpha Dash were slow to begin.
Just Like Zuma (severely checked and lost ground approaching the home turn), underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was re–examined following race 6. Just Like Zuma was found to have a left carpal sprain and a right hamstrings muscle injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr. D. Petersen regarding Just Like Zuma's performance approaching the home turn. In accordance with GAR 122, the Stewards requested Mr. Petersen to report as soon as practicable anything that may have affected the running of Just Like Zuma in the event, which was not noted by Stewards during or immediately after the event.
Ritza Dale (lost ground on the home turn), underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was re–examined following race 4, no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Mr. M. Faulkner regarding the racing manners of Ritza Dale on the home turn. After hearing submissions from Mr. Faulkner, viewing the available race footage and having their own observations, the Stewards issued a warning to connections.
Alpha Dash (turned it's head outwards and marred Tornado Jack in the home straight) and underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Mr. S. Millard regarding Alpha Dash's racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 123, Alpha Dash was charged with marring. Mr. Millard pleaded guilty to the charge. Alpha Dash is suspended for 28 days at all tracks and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
