Your Mum's Upset – Late scratching at 10:57pm (23/01/24) when Mr Daniel Hoch reported the greyhound to have a pad injury (GAR 76). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 19(3)(w) before any future nominations will be accepted. Stewards spoke to Mr. Hoch regarding the late withdrawal of Your Mum's Upset from this event. Mr. Hoch explained that he noticed the greyhound sustained a small lacertion to the front left pad which was not apparent when checked prior to scratching time. Stewards noted these comments.

In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed ‘Heat Affected’. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 26.8 degrees and the kennel temperature was 18.8 degrees. Stewards continually monitored the temperature at the venue, as per the GRV Hot Weather Policy.

Rio Sam faltered at the 150m mark and subsequently pulled up, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to the left triangle, left back muscle and left groin. A 28 day stand down period was imposed. 

Wage Earner faltered at the 50m mark and lost ground, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right front flexor tendon injury. A 28 day stand down period was imposed. 

Stewards spoke to Mrs Julie Green regarding the racing manners of Wage Earner soon after the start. After hearing submissions from Mrs. Green, viewing the available race footage and having their own observations, the Stewards issued a warning to connections.

She Is Scarlet was quick to begin.

Man Of Action was checked soon after the start and lost ground over the concluding stages, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left monkry muscle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Lorelle Soldier lost ground throughout the event, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left torn nail and left back muscle. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Remo Rodman – New declared weight of 32.1kg, last raced at 30.6kg.
