Flying In Hot was quick to begin.
Cool Blue Star severely checked on the home turn and subsequently fell. Cool Blue Star underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have left back muscle injury . A 21 day stand down period was imposed.
Cook Model underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hock sprain. A 21 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr. Brian Alford regarding the racing manners of Cook Model entering the home straight. Stewards took into account the nature and placement of the injury and that the injury may have contributed to the racing manners of Cook Model. Stewards took no further action.
Stewards spoke to Mr. Gary Joske regarding the difficulty in boxing Daintree Damage in this event. A warning was issued pursuant to GAR 106(2) and Stewards will continue to monitor the box manners of Daintree Damage at future starts.
